Mrs. Smith, 92, died Sept. 16, 2006, at Beverly Health Care. She was born on March 29, 1914, to Harvey P. Posey and Pearlie Nations Posey.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, Virgil Durr and Clemmie Smith; her sons, Thomas Gartman and L.M. Gartman Jr.; her daughter, Peggy White; her brother, Hollis Posey; and her sister, Irma Cotten.
Survivors are her sister, Janis Owens and husband Harold, of Owensville, Ind.; her son-in-law, Jerry White, of Brookhaven; her daughter-in-law, Pat Gartman, of Brookhaven; her six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; her numerous nieces and nephews, and numerous stepchildren, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren
