Modern Miss Shop owner dies Monday.

Mrs. Mary S. Stock, 87, 105 E. Broadway, died Monday morning at 11:25 in the Warner Hospital where she had been a patient since Easter Sunday.

A native of Littlestown, she was a daughter of the late William F. and Anna (Steffy) Starr, and was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church here.

She owned and operated the Modern Miss Shop on Chambersburg St. since 1937.

She was a member of the DAR, the Warner Hospital Auxiliary, the Gettysburg Women's Club, the Hospital Bridge Club and the Friends of the Library.

She was a lifelong resident of Adams County. Her husband, Charles W. Stock, died in 1944.

Surviving are two daughters Mrs. Angela Hall, Malvern, Pa., and Mrs. Mary Frasch, 105 E. Broadway; a son, William S. Stock, of Lake Barcroft, Va.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. J. W. Barton, Clearwater, Fla., and two brothers, Allen E. Starr, Camp Hill and William F. Starr, Williamsport, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning with meeting at the Monahan Funeral Home, Carlisle St., at 9:30 to go to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church for a requiem Mass at 10 o'clock with Rev. Msgr. Alphonse T. Marcincavage as celebrant.

Interment in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday evening, with the Rosary to be recited there at 8 o'clock.
