George Dewey Blacklock of Benton died Tuesday, December 17, 2002. He was 80.
He was born August 10, 1922, at Bauxite to Goebel D. and Alma Williams Blacklock.
He was retired from Reynolds Metals Company.
He was a veteran of World War II, a recipient of a Purple Heart and a member of Parkview United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Alliene S. Blacklock.
Survivors include two sons, Gary Blacklock and his wife Vivian of Adairsville, Ga., and Ronnie Blacklock and his wife Nancy of Bristol, Va.; his daughter, Georgene 'Jane' Geurin of Benton; three brothers, Grover D. Blacklock, Roy Lemar Blacklock of Bryant and Garland L. Blacklock of Little Rock; three sisters, Allene Crawford of Bryant, Barbara Floyd of Salem and Doris Wood of Phoenix, Ariz,.; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Ashby Funeral Home with the Rev. Skipper French officiating.
Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Parkview United Methodist Church.
