Hazel "Ruth" Baldwin, 63, of Lacon, mother of a Streator woman, died at 4:10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, 2001, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

Services were held today at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon. Chaplain Bill Cordes officiated.


Burial was in Lacon Cemetery.


Born Feb. 7, 1938, in Varna, she was the daughter of Albert W. and Rosalind E. (Crew) Crank. She married Walter E. "Bud" Baldwin on April 6, 1958, in Lacon. He survives.


Also surviving are daughters, Joanne (Mrs. Leonard) Catton and Lisa (Mrs. Jeff) Schmitt, both of Lacon, Sue (Mrs. Don) Orman of Chillicothe, and Kathy (Mrs. Ben) Biba of Streator; two grandchildren; brothers, George Crank of Buckeye, Ariz., and Harold Crank of Ottawa; and sisters, Alberta Rayburn and Sharon Baggs, both of Henry, Barb Wendler of Chillicothe, and Mary Maxey of Ottawa.


She was preceded in death by her parents.


She was a spinner at Lacon Woolen Mills.
