The Butler County native was retired from the Army after 20 years of service and from Holley Carburetor. He was a member of Big Muddy Baptist Church and a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a son of the late Commador Hunt and Gordia Wade Hunt.
Survivors include two sons, James "Little Jim"; D. Hunt Jr. and his wife, Michelle, and Chelcey Jenkins and his wife, Deanna, all of Morgantown; two daughters, Nanette Vincent and her husband, Gus, of Rochester and Sharon Jones of Morgantown; eight grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
