Charley J. Gore, 74, died peacefully at home Oct. 16.

He was born in Las Animas, Colo., on July 31, 1935, to Lee and Mildred Gore.

He grew up in Las Animas before joining the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Gore later worked for Wrights Tree Service.

He then started his own business called The Expert Tree Service and worked with trees for the rest of his life.

He married Mary Jo McGeddy in 1959 and had three children, Janice, Debra and Ronnie.

He moved to Cheyenne in 1975 to be close to his father.

He met Maxine McKenzie and the couple married in March of 1977.

Mr. Gore is survived by his daughter, Janice Gore; step-son, Joe McKenzie; three sisters; one brother; two step-sisters; two step-brothers; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Sopr in 2004; son, Ronnie Gore in 1993; his parents; step-mother, Ruby Stobridge; step-brother, Roger Stobridge; and sister, Rosalee Varadoe.

Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.

At his request, no services will be held.
