Samuel W. Williams, 93, of 908 N. Stanley Drive, Chillicothe, died at 2:44 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born May 17, 1913, in Princeville, Ill., the son of Samuel J. and Wilhelmina Minnie Bouton. He married Evalyn G. Miller on March 2, 1968, in Wyoming, Ill.

Surviving are his children, Jerry Williams of Rochester, Minn., Janet (John) Myers of Chillicothe, Linda (Melvin) Witte of Chillicothe and Bob (Janet "Cookie") Miller of Wyoming; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Dana; two brothers; and three sisters.

He was a lifetime employee and retired from L.R. Nelson Corp. in Peoria.

He was a member of the SME (Society of Manufacturing Engineers) and was a charter and lifetime member of Arrowhead Country Club.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Chillicothe, where he was a member of the Men's Club. He was a greeter and usher for many years.

His committal service will be in the Wyoming City Cemetery.
