George Q. Adams was born about 1836 in Kentucky. His father was Martin Adams, born about 1790 in Virginia; mother unknown at this time. George was the third child of a family of four known children. His brothers and sister were: John Adams (ca 1822-Bef 1880), James Adams (ca 1823-1858), and Mildred Adams (1838-?), all born in Kentucky.
George and his older brother John both married McIntire sisters.
About 1860, George married Mary W. McIntire (1840-Bef 1920), born in Kentucky. Mary was a daughter of Nicholas McIntire (1802-1859) and Eliza D. Sims (1802-1892), both born in Kentucky.
George and Mary settled into a life of farming in Montgomery County, Kentucky. This couple had nine children: James B. (Dr.) Adams (1861-1908), John Davis Adams (1863-1942), William Henry (Dr.) Adams (1866-), David Adams (ca 1868-), Viola Adams (ca 1871-), A. Pearl Adams (ca 1873-), Mary Melvina Adams (1876-), George W. Adams (ca 1879-), and Andrew Adams (1881-).
George died before 1900.
