A memorial service for Edward J. Friend, 76, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, at Our Saviour's United Methodist Church, 701 East Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg.
Born Sept. 5, 1930, in Chicago, he died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006, at his home.
Mr. Friend was an active lifetime member of the VFW Post 2202. He was a volunteer at Northwest Community Hospital for 10 years and also at the Schaumburg Library, helping non-English speaking adult students for a year.
If desired, memorials may be given to Our Saviour's United Methodist Church.
