Funeral of Thomas C. Cox
The funeral of Thomas C. Cox, late Water Registrar took place from his late residence, corner of Twenty-eight and N Streets Northwest yesterday afternoon, Rev. A.R. Stuart of Christ Protestant Episcopal Church, officiating. A large concourse of sympathizing friends were assembled to pay their last tributes of respect. The remains were incased in a handsomely mounted black cloth casket covered with beautiful floral offerings. Representatives of the different departments of the city government were in attendance and the flowing gentlemen acted as pallbearers: Messrs. Henry, Samuel, Frank and Walter Robinson, brothers-in-law of the deceased, Captain Simms of the Health Office and William A. Gordon.
The cortege under the charge of Mr. Joseph T. Birch, undertaker started from the house at about 5:30 o'clock and provided to Oak Hill Cemetery where the remains were placed in the Chapel to await burial.
