Myers, Nina Maurine (Davis) Clum, 92, retired LPN, died September 26, 2009. Born in Wichita on July 20, 1917 to Jesse Pottle and Mabel (Kasenberg) Davis, Nina was the second of 5 children. Nina spent most of her adolescent and teen years on a farm near Anson, KS her father had purchased in 1928, just before the Depression. Nina said she loved growing up on Slate Creek, although it flooded every Spring. She attended Anson Grade School and graduated from Wellington High School. She attended both Arkansas City and Garden City Junior Colleges during the Dustbowl days, majoring in voice. She had a wonderful soprano voice and sang in opera and musical comedy while in college. She taught voice and piano for many years at Conway Springs. She was a member of Woodland United Methodist Church and participated in the bell choir there. Later in life, Nina obtained an LPN degree and was a neo-natal nurse at Wesley Medical Center for over 12 years. Nina married Raymond Lee Clum of Anson on June 2, 1941. They had 3 sons and raised them near Conway Springs. After Lee died in 1993, Nina married Mervin W. Myers. Preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jesse Dale, James Robert (Jim Bob); sister, Jeannine Steed; husbands, Raymond Lee Clum and Mervin W. Myers; son, Alan Clum; and grandson, Jason Mathew Clum. Survived by sons, Larry (Bobbi) Clum of Maize; Mike (Sandra) Clum of Silver Lake, OH; daughter-in-law, Carol Clum of Medford, OR; sister, Peg Thompson of Huntington Beach, CA, sisters-in-law, Thelma Davis, Newton, KS and Helen Clum of Wichita; grandchildren, Erin (John) Rogers of Kechi, Andie (Alex) Rice-Tanner of Wichita, Morgan (Laura) Clum of Medford, Angela (Drew) Strange of Medford, Katherine Smetana of Chicago, Nick (Andrea) Lever of Sharon Township, OH, Shelly (Chris) Colla of Montvale, NJ, and Chris Lever of Stow, OH; 12 great-grandchildren; step-children, Vicki (John) Helkey of San Antonio and Sherril (Ken) Bieberly of Salina; 4 step-grandchildren and 9 step-great-grandchildren. Nina also leaves a host of other family members and friends. Services 10:30 a.m., Saturday,Woodland Methodist Church, 1100 W. 15th St, Wichita. Inurnment in Conway Springs Cemetery. Memorial to Hospice Care of Kansas.
