Claude U. Parker, 80, formerly of 1208 Seventh St. S.E., a retired Model Laundry employee, died Wednesdy at Woodside Convalescent Center following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Parker was born Oct. 7, 1905, at Fountain. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, stationed in Italy. On Oct. 11, 1952, he married Nina Schwartz, she died Aug. 31, 1970. He then married Myrtle Finn on May 12, 1972, in Rochester. Mr. Parker worked in the refrigeration department of Kepp Manufacturing in Rochester and then for Kahler Corp. at the Model Laundry. Mrs. Parker also worked for the Kahler Corp.
Survivors include his wife; two stepsons, Elmer Peterson of Elba and Kenneth Winter of Chester; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three brothers, Glen of Dexter, Lloyd of Preston and Ray of Spring Valley; and a sister. Ethel Vaalemoen of Preston. Three sisters preceded him in death.
The funeral is 10 a.m. Saturday ay Macken Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Keith Kendall officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.
