Later the family moved to Duchesne where she lived until she met Emil Jay Bowden of Vernal, Utah. The couple were married August 27, 1948 and resided in Vernal. They had three sons, one of which died soon after birth.
Vicena was a good wife and mother. She loved her family and always made home a pleasant place to be. She loved to laugh and you couldn't help but laugh with her. She took great pleasure in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to tease with them. They knew they could always find a cookie at grandma's house.
Her family has many wonderful memories of the barbecues and birthday parties in the backyard. She enjoyed going for drives and camping. She pieced tiny pieces of fabric into quilt blocks to make beautiful quilts and crocheted lovely afghans.
One of her great joys in life was to play music and was self taught. She played by ear and could play the piano, accordion, organ and guitar.
As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she served as Jr. Sunday School Secretary for several years.
Vicena passed away early Saturday morning October 17, 2009 at the age of 80. She was loved and will be sorely missed.
