Loyd A. Boyd, age 91, died Monday, October 19, 2009 in Lubbock, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 23, 2009 at the Assembly of God Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Jerry Roberts, a former pastor of the Clayton Assembly of God Church and Larry Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors, Clayton, New Mexico.
Loyd A. Boyd was born on February 24, 1918 in Clayton, New Mexico to John Amos Boyd and Hazel Marie (Pembleton) Boyd. He graduated from Clayton High School in 1938 and married Nona Gaye (Leavitt) Boyd on December 25, 2939 in Portales, New Mexico. Loyd served in the US Army in India during WWII and in Korea and Japan during the Korean War. He was a longtime member of the Assembly of God Church in Clayton and served as a Board Member for many years. Loyd worked as a carpenter and as a rancher in the Clayton area most of his life. Loyd was preceded in death by his father on November 22, 1976, his mother on July 15, 1966 and by a sister, Louise Strauss on March 23, 2004.

WIFE: Nona Gaye Boyd of Clayton, New Mexico.
2 SONS: Larry Boyd and his wife Sharlott of Lubbock, Texas and H. C. Boyd and his wife Sarah of Thornton, Colorado.
1 BROTHER: Dewey Boyd and his wife Margaret of Manitou Springs, Colorado.
6 GRANDCHILDREN: Lucrecia Boyd and Shayla Boyd both of Allen, Texas, Jody Boyd and his wife Jennifer of Keller, Texas, Jason Boyd and his wife Becki of Rupert, Idaho, Justin Boyd and David Boyd both of Dallas, Texas.
6 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Carter Boyd, Dylan Boyd, Lindsey Boyd, Cooper Boyd, Savanna Boyd and Alaysha Jones.
