She was buried in the Shippen plot at the Second Presbyterian Church and, with her husband, was later reinterred in Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Philadelphia.

Dr Edward Shippen was married 1879 to Rebecca Lloyd {Nicholson} who was the Widdow of CS Captain John Edgar Howard Post {b.Feb. 19, 1841 d. Feb. 12, 1876} whose mother Margaret {Howard} Post was the daugther of Maryland Governor George Howard.
