Alvis Waldrop, 91, of Winters, died March 14, 2015. He was born October 4, 1923 in Content and lived in Runnels County all his life. He served in the Army Air Force during World War 2. He married Dorothy Turnbow February 16, 1946 in Winters. She preceded him in death January 7, 2006. He worked for Runnels County retiring in 1987. He is survived by 2 sons and 3 daughters: David Waldrop of Houston, Johnny Ray Waldrop of Nachadoches, Donna Casares of Andrews, Jessie Lou Waldrop of Ballinger and Doris Hassan and husband Aref of Winters. 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and his best buddy, Pete and 2 special friends, Geraldine Phelps and Ruth Jobe.
Besides his wife he was preceded in death by 1 daughter: Opal Stanfield, 2 grandsons, Courtney Collom and Colby Geistmann.
Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday March 18, 2015 at Lakeview cemetery directed by Winters Funeral Home.
