MRS. ALTA PHILLIPS, 79, HUNTER, SUCCUMBS

Hunter--Mrs. Alta Phillips, 79, died early Monday in an Enid hospital after a lingering illness.
Mrs. Phillips was born and reared in Missouri but had lived two miles north of Hunter 40 years. She married Charles D. Phillips on July 26, 1905 in Bigelow, Kansas. They made their home near Marysville, KS. She had been a teacher in a Marshall County. She had 2 children, Vera Marie and Milton Edward both born in Marysville.
Survivors include her husband, Charlie, of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Russell Howard, Fayetteville, Ark.; one son, Milton Phillips, Pryor; two sisters, Mrs. J. R. Wassem, Chanute, Kans. and Mrs. Odessa Fraker, Kansas City.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p. m. Wednesday in the Hunter Methodist church with the Rev. John Craig and the Rev. Byron Paxton officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery with the Anderson funeral home, Hunter, in charge. The body will lie in state at the church from 1 to 2 p. m. when the casket will be closed.
