Arthur A. Davis, age 95, of Fairburn, Georgia, formerly of Maumee, Ohio and Logan, Utah died Sunday, October 15th, 2006, in Piedmont Fayette Hospital in Fayette, Georgia. Arthur was born June 20th, 1911, in Toledo, OH, to Clarence J. and Anna (Schiska) Davis. He married Elva C. Felt on November 12, 1945, in Santa Monica, CA. Art was a mail carrier for the U.S. Post Office, Maumee for 32 years where he served as president of the local union and chief steward for several years retiring in 1973. He was an Army veteran having served as a Master Sergeant during WWII. His memberships included American Legion Post #320 where he was past Commander and a member of The Voiture 141 of the 40&8. Art was also a past scout master for St. Joseph's Boy Scout Troop 104 and a recipient of The Boy Scouts of America Silver Beaver Award. Surviving are his sons, Norman R. (Judith) Davis of Plymouth, MN; Stephen J. Davis of Fairburn, GA and granddaughter, Rachel A. (Ryan) Davis-Taber of Grays Lake, IL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elva. Friends may call at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home 501 Conant St. Maumee on Saturday October 21, 2006 from 8:00 a.m. until the time of services at 10:00 a.m. followed by funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, Maumee. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, with military services conducted by The Lucas County Burial Corp. Memorial contributions may be made to The Boy Scouts of America.
