Funeral of Nancy L, wife of James H Roberts, will be Sunday. Burial Buck Creek Cemetery.

Nancy L Roberts was born Jefferson Co, VA, on the 12th June, 1814, and died 26th October, 1888. She was baptized into the fellowship of the Mt Zion Baptist Church in Berkeley Co, VA, by Eld Richard Herden in her youthful days, serving the Lord more than fifty years. She married James H Roberts in 1845 and moved to Ohio and settled in Union Township, Champaign Co where she lived pleasantly with her husband for more than 40 years when God called her home. During all these years she adorned her profession as a Christian by a sweet genial hospitable self sacrificing liberal devoted and patient spirit. For although she was afflicted for about a year before she died, yet she never murmured.
When she came to Ohio she united with the Beaver Baptist Church then the Urbana Baptist Church and then the Walnut Hills Baptist Church of Clark County, in which church her letter was when she died. She is buried beside her sister and parents in Buck Creek Cemetery.
