Alida (sometimes spelled Alada) Coder, born 19 February 1812, was the daughter of John Pitner and Mary Tomlinson. On 7 December 1837 in Columbia County, PA, she married George H. Coder, born 10 June 1814. They lived first in Danville, then around 1850 moved to Shamokin, where they lived the rest of their lives. Their children were Harriet, Mary Ellen, John N. (died Civil War), William, Darius W, Abner Pitner, Rebecca and George. Only Mary, Darius and Abner survived to adulthood. Alida died at Darius' home in Rush Twp., on 27 February 1882.
