She was born Sept. 16, 1913, in Throckmorton County. She married Bill Howsley on March 16, 1934, in Breckenridge, and he died March 15, 1994. She graduated from Throckmorton High School. She retired from Hemphill Wells Department Store as a sales associate, where she had been employed for numerous years. She was an active member of Redbud Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Bill Howsley Jr. of Plano; a brother, Sherman Fant of Houston; a sister, Mary Harris of Wichita Falls; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
