"Catherine A. Van Patten died Saturday night at 7:30 o'clock at her home, 604 Terrace place, after a lingering illness. She suffered a stroke of paralysis five years ago and had been confined to her bed since July. She was born in Glenville 83 years ago, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Van Patten, and was a descendent of early settlers in that region. Twenty years ago she came to this city, where she had lived since. The nearest relatives are nieces and nephews. Among these are Charles and Homer Van Patten of this city.
