William L. Aichele,Sr., 87. of New Lexington,Ohio, formerly of Crooksville, passed away at 9:30 a.m. Friday, August 15, 2014 at the home of his daughter following an extended illness.
He was born May 10, 1927 in Pedow, Morgan County, Ohio , the son of Samuel Fred and Mary Belle (Berry) Aichele..
He served our country in the US Army during World War II. He was a former employee of Wiseman's Dairy in Crooksville and retired from the Crooksville School System where he worked as a custodian in the high school. Bill was a Methodist by faith. He was a member of VFW post 9090 of Crooksville-Roseville.
Bill is survived by daughters and son-in-law, April "Sam" Thomas of Crooksville and Crystal and Charles Renick of New Lexington and son and daughter-in-law William and Elizabeth Aichele of Pataska, his sister Rose Penn of Sunbury, his brother and sister-in law, Carl and Ora Lou Aichele of Charleston, SC, his grandchildren, Scott Michael (Alice) Aichele, Nicholas Allen Aichele, Ben Renick and Bethany (Jeff) Palfrey and his great-grandchildren, Luke, Lucy, Jacob and Paige Aichele.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn (Annon) Aichele October 20, 1983: his second wife, Harriet Mae (Alton) Aichele who passed away September 9, 2008, his brothers: Ralph Robert and Donald Aichele, his son in-law, Tim Thomas.
Family and friends will be received 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 7 at Goeblel Funeral Home, 36 N.Buckeye, Crooksille. Service and celebration of Bill's life will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Rev.Gay E.Blau officiating. Burial will follow next to Marilyn at Mount Horeb cemetery.
