Crushed to Death Was Charles VanMeter by Root of a Cave Cellar Falling In Death Ensued Twenty Minutes After He Was Released Fatal Accident near Lynchburg Saturday Morning Charles VanMeter was fatally injured early Saturday morning at the home of his father, Peter VanMeter, about two miles from Lynchburg. He was engaged in building a cave cellar when in some manner he loosened the prop holding the room, precipitating the heavy mass of timber and earth upon himself. He was badly crushed and lived only about twenty minutes after the accident. He was aged about 38 years and was a married man, but lived with his father.
