He was a retired local businessman and entrepreneur, founder and former owner of Precision Machine Company, Inc. and also formerly owned and operated Atlantic Machine and Welding Service, Inc. and Industrial Plant Services, Inc. He had also been a real estate and insurance broker for many years.
Mr. Anthony attended Blackstone Military Academy and McGuire's University School here in Richmond. During World War II, he served as an officer in the Corps of Engineers with the Tenth Army in the invasion of Okinawa and with the XXIV Corps at Kimpo Airdrome, Korea.
He was formerly a member of the Commonwealth Club, the Downtown Club, the Bull and Bear Club and the Engineers Club of Richmond. Heserved as Historian of the Lee-Jackson Camp of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and was a former President of the McGuire's School Alumni Association.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis McLain Anthony.
