Thad Biggs, 80, of Holcomb, Mo., died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Born Oct. 30, 1920, in Light, Ark., son of the late John Mack and Dove Biggs, he was a U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII, deacon and Sunday school teacher at the First Baptist Church in Holcomb. He was a Math teacher for 30 years at Holcomb and was a member of the American Legion Post 293 of Malden, Mo.
On Sept. 25, 1945, he married Betty Moore, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include two daughters, Cynda Bearden, of Senath, Mo. and Brenda Lewallen and husband, Ron, of Holcomb; two brothers, James A. Biggs, of Walnut Ridge, Ark. and Lloyd Biggs, of Flint, Mich.; three grandsons, Tim and Stephen Bearden, of Jonesboro, Ark. and Ronnie Lewallen, Jr., of Holcomb; one granddaughter, Mendy Hicks, of Spring Hill, Tenn. and one great-granddaughter, Alexis Lewallen, of Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett with the Rev. Randy Vaughn officiating.
Pallbearers will be Tim and Stephen Bearden, Ron Lewallen, Ronnie Lewallen, Jr., Brian Hicks and Duane Lowe.
