DEATH OF RODNEY CASSIL
END COMES TODAY IN LOS ANGELES HOSPITAL

Remains Will Be Cremated and Brought to Carthage for Burial - Was 62 Years Old.


Rodney Cassil, formerly of this city died at the Sisters' Hospital in Los Angeles, California, and 5 o'clock this morning of Bright's Disease. Tomorrow the remains will be cremated and the remains will be cremated and the ashes will be sent here to be buried beside the bodies of his father, mother and brother Ed.
Mr. Cassil has been in failing health for five years. On October 11, he started in an automobile from Ruth, California to Los Angeles, the trip representing a distance of 900 miles. He reached a point of 80 miles from Los Angeles when he collapsed and his wife went after him and took him to Los Angeles to the hospital. Mr. Cassil had been in the mountains spending the summer for his health, and was on his way home when he became exhausted.
The deceased was born in Ohio and was 62 years old. He came here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Cassil, in 1867 and was the last surviror of the family. He left here about 15 years ago. He was married He was married in St. Louis, March 24 to Mrs. Roy Whitney, who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Myers, of this city. His wife and an adopted daughter survive him, the adopted daughter being the daughter of Mrs. Cassil and her former husband.
The father of the deceased man was one of the best known settlers of Carthage and was prominent in all local affairs up to the time of his demise a few years ago.

RODNEY CASSIL'S ASHES HERE

Burial in Park Cemetery Beside Parents as He Requested


The ashes of Rodney Cassil arrived this morning from California and were interred in the Cassil lot in Park Cemetery beside the parents and brother of the deceased. This was exactly in accordance with his special request before he died.
The funeral was held in the chapel of the crematory at Los Angeles, California October 27, which was the day following his death, the whole proceedings up to that point being the same at as any other funeral. At the close of the ceremonies the body was consigned to the crematory. The funeral was attended not only by nearly every former Carthage resident in Los Angeles, some 25 or more persons, but also by a number of more recently made friends. The particulars of his illness and death were fully given at the time of his demise.
