RUSH CENTER - Velma F. Burk, 89, died Oct. 13, 2009, at Rush County Nursing Home, La Crosse. She was born March 22, 1920, the daughter of John and Emma Phillips Nash.
On Aug. 20, 1937, she married Cecil E. Burk. He survives. Other survivors include: daughter, Sherla A. Mendenhall; sister, Estel Cook; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, La Crosse. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse, with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m., and from 9 to 9:50 a.m. Friday at the church. Memorials to South Wind Hospice, Pratt, or the Rush County Nursing Home, La Crosse.
