Pioneer settler from around 1818 in Franklin County; he owned and operated a refueling stop for steamboats on the river which was known as "Miller's Landing". The town was later incorporated and renamed "New Haven". He had 21 children after two marriages, with several who remained in the area.
First marriage (1802)was to Naomi Richardson b.1785,VA, d.1820,MO, burial site unknown. Second marriage (30 Jan 1823)to Lucy McIntyre.
