Our beloved relative, Adele Maxine (Brownwolf) Cournoyer, made her journey to the Spirit World on December 11, 2006 at Sioux Valley Hospital.
Adele was the most generous relative and friend. She was known for her kind-hearted nature and for never turning away a person in need.
Adele was born on September 19, 1957, in Pine Ridge, South Dakota, to Richard "Chico" Traversie and Rosemary Pauline Brownwolf. Adele grew up with her grandmother, Adele Cadotte.
She shared her life with her only son, Robert Wayne Cournoyer, Jr.; 5 daughters, Jennifer JoAnne Traversie, Danielle Terese Raymond, Camille Joy Cournoyer, Cherise Jade Traversie, and Amber Cory Traversie; 14 grandchildren; her mother, Rosemary, and was the oldest of her six sisters; two brothers; her companion, Keith Smith; and many, many more relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard; two brothers; and her Grandma Adele.
A visitation wake will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday at Miller West Funeral Home, followed by another wake and a 1:00 pm funeral service on Thursday in Marty, SD. Interment St. Paul Catholic Cemetery in Marty, SD.
