Alois F. Frommelt

Services for Alois F. Frommelt, formerly of Guttenberg, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, at St. Mary Catholic Church, to be conducted by Father Paul Peters.

Visitation will be at the Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home from 2-9 p.m. Friday with the scripture wake service at 8 p.m.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Mr. Frommelt died Thursday afternoon at the Alverno Health Care Center in Clinton.

Mr. Frommelt was a son of Louis and Elizabeth (Roth) Frommelt and was born in Guttenberg Oct. 13, 1904. He was married at St. Mary's on May 1, 1928 to Odelia Nieland, who died Jan. 11, 1985. He had been employed at the American Pearl Button Co. in Guttenberg and later John Deere Dubuque Works until retirement.

He is survived by one son, Dr. Alton A. "Bud" Frommelt of DeWitt, six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Elmer of Ossian, and one sister, Mrs. Alma Heithoff of Carroll.

Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by eight brothers and two sisters.

GUTTENBERG, Iowa -- Services for Alois F. "Al" Frommelt, 85, of Clinton, formerly of Guttenberg, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Guttenberg.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in rural Guttenberg. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday at Tucke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg, where the wake service will be said at 8 p.m.

Mr. Frommelt worked as a machinist at the John Deere Dubuque Works for 20 years prior to retirement. He formerly worked at the Button Factory in Guttenberg.

He was born Oct. 13, 1904, in Guttenberg, son of Louis and Elizabeth (Roth) Frommelt. He died Tuesday, Jan 2, 1990 at Alverno Health Care Facility, Clinton.

He married Odelia Nieland on May 1, 1928, in Guttenberg. She died Jan. 11, 1985.

Surviving are a son, Alton "Bud" Frommelt of De Witt, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a brother, Elmer Frommelt of Ossian, and a sister, Mrs. Alma Heithoff of Carroll.
