A well known retired farmer, David Alexander Tedford, 64, died Friday, January 20, at his Lansdowne home after an illness of several years, following a stroke.
Mr. Tedford was born May 25, 1891 at Halstead's Bay, near Gananoque, a son of William Henry Tedford and the former Marion Walker. He married the former Elizabeth Quinn, of Lansdowne and farmed until his retirement five years ago.
Besides his wife, he leaves four sons, Charles of Lansdowne; Kenneth of Wilstead; and Ford and Carman of Brockville; two daughters, Mrs. Ken Cramer (Gladys) of Gowganda; and Mrs. Glenna Mallory of Brockville; one sister, Mrs. William Lackie, of Gananoque, and three brothers, Robert of Soperton; Archie of Cleveland, Ohio; and Harold of Lansdowne. He was predeceased by three brothers, William, James and Samuel, the former two within the last six months.
The remains rested at the A. J. Sly Funeral Parlor at Lansdowne until Monday, January 23, when services were held at two o'clock in Lansdowne United Church with Rev. L. W. Herbert and Rev. A. C. Young officiating. The body was placed in the Union vault, Lansdowne, awaiting internment in the spring.
