First Lieutenant Weathers' last know status was missing after being killed in action during the Korean War.

He was awarded the Purple Heart;

and additional Army awards.

His name is etched on one of the eight marble courts containing the names of the Americans missing in action from both World War II and the Korean located at the National Cemetery of the Pacific located on the island of Oahu in Hawaii.

He is also remembered by the citizens of Cleveland County as his name appears on the marker in the center of the county seat.
