Local Boy Killed In Action On Nazi Front

26 YEARS OLD


Harvey J. Clefisch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Clefisch of McGregor and formerly of Guttenberg, lost his life in action in Germany December 3 according to word received here by relatives. Clefisch was in the infantry, was inducted on March 3, 1942, and had been overseas about a year.


Born in Jefferson


Clefisch, who was 26 years of age, was born in Jefferson township on December 11, 1917, the son of Fred and Louise Lewin Clefisch. He spent most of his life ___ and the family had lived here ___ recently when Mr. and Mrs. Clefisch moved to McGregor.


He is survived by his parents, three brothers and one sister: Raymond of McGregor, Mrs. Hildagard Smith of Garber, Harley, a twin brother of Guttenberg, and Kenneth, who is a paratrooper serving in France. An older brother, Lester, died on December 13, 1943.

The date has yet been set for funeral services which will be held at a later date, according to an uncle, Ray Lewis of Guttenberg.
