W. B. MILLER IS ILLNESS VICTIM

W. B. Miller, leading farmer of the Danville Route 1 community, died at 11:30 Wednesday night at Benevolent Society Hospital after a 10-day illness of pneumonia. He was 74 years of age.

Funeral services will be conducted at McKendry Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock by the Rev. R. N. Moore of Falkville and the Rev. Mr. Dickerson of Cullman county. Peck of Hartselle will be in charge of burial.

Surviving are two sons, J. T., of Danville Route 1 and Homer Miller of Gadsden; eight daughters, Mrs Dora Crow, Mrs Nannie Stovall, Mrs Clara Hall, Mrs Tivis Legg, Danville Route 1; Mrs Chloe Bennett, Vinemont Route 1; Mrs Ila Reid, Danville Route 4; Mrs Venice Kimbrough, Decatur; Mrs Vernice Cheatham, Vinemont Route 3; 28 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mr Miller was one of the most prominent residents of the Danville Route 1 community where he resided all his life. He was a member of the Methodist church.

Gravesite Details

According to William's mother's her widow's pension for Confederate soldiers of the Civil War, William's father, Robert W. Miller was killed at the Battle of Spotsylvania on May 18, 1864.
