He was born May 26, 1904, in Bear River City, a son of James L. "Kink" and Adaline Okason Andersen.
He married Ruby Anderson on Dec. 24, 1934, in Brigham City.
He was a lifelong resident of Bear River City where he was reared and educated.
He owned and operated a farm in Bear River City and White's valley until he was 80 years old.
He served as Bear River City mayor from 1958 to 1962.
He was a member of the Bear River City Ditch and Water board. and was instrumental in getting water to the Bear River City area. He had been president of West Bear River Drainage district.
He was a member of the Bear River Second LDS ward.
Surviving are his widow of Bear River City and two sons: Rawlin L. Andersen, and James R. Andersen, both of Bear River City; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister and one granddaughter.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday in the Bear River LDS wards chapel.
Burial was in Bear River City cemetery; arrangements were by Rogers mortuary in Tremonton.
The family suggested donations to Primary Children's Medical center in Salt Lake City.
