James Joseph Shade of 790 West 6th Avenue, Junction City, died Friday, January 17, 1958, as a result of an accident. He was born at Torrance, Cal., August 39, 1950. He had been a resident of Junction City for the past year. He was a student in the Junction City Elementary School and a member of the St. Rose Catholic Church. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Shade; 1 sister, Patricia Mae; 1 brother, John Thomas; his grandmother, Mrs. Lena Lauridsen. Recitation of the Rosary will be said Sunday, January 19, at 7:30 p.m. at the St. Rose Catholic Church, Monroe, Oregon. Requiem mass will be said Monday, January 20, 1958, at 10 a.m. in the St. Rose Catholic Church with Rev. Vincent J. Sampietro, celebrant. Interment in the Danish Cemetery. Murphy Funeral Home. Junction City directors.

Jimmy Shade was struck and killed by a pick-up truck driven by a local teenager. Jimmy was returning home from playing in Washburn Park on Sixth Avenue and ran in front of the vehicle.
