Imogene Harlan, 80, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2004 in her home in Edmond, OK after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. Imogene was born March 11, 1924 in Wewoka, OK to Eli and Effie Harlan. She was a resident of Edmond since 1948. Imogene graduated from St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing in Evansville, Indiana in 1948. In 1958 she completed anesthesia training at the Charity Hospital of Louisiana and had a successful career as a nurse anesthetist at University Hospital at OU Medical Center. Miss Harlan proudly served her country as she volunteered for 3 years in the Vietnam War as a nurse on a medical team. Imogene was a member of the Eastern Star organization. She had a great love for horses as she raised miniature and Caspian horses on her small farm in Edmond. She was a sports enthusiast and a devoted fan of OU football. Imogene is proceded in death by her parents and 4 brothers. She is survived by her cousins, Sonny and Burl Nichols; nephews, Roy, Roger, Robert, and John Harlan; nieces, Melanie Bowman, Deann Winters and Kendy Lou Kelly. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Services are scheduled for 10:00 A. M. Saturday, August 28, 2004 at Baggerley Funeral Home in Edmond. Interment will follow at 3:00 P. M. at Piney Cemetery, Piney, OK.
