Johnnie's grandson, George William Fritz II
We had graveside services because most of Johnnie's friends were already gone or couldn't come to a service. It was a beautiful day in July maybe 80 degrees. It reminded me of ole times when all the folk's were too far away to come to a service and you had your own graveyard at the farm. So peaceful and Brother John Morton gave a message that was comforting. It was as if he had prepared it but he had been out of town and got the message just 2 hrs before the service so I know the Lord gave the message that day.
Johnnie Joined Eastern Star in 1936. She was Worthy Matron at Mc Kenny Texas in 1940 and again in 1972 at the Freedom Temple #48 of the Pythons in Oklahoma City.
Her father was James Jefferson Baker. Mother Mittie Herring. She was born in Bethany at home in a house where the sanctuary for the Southern Nazarene College stands. She helped her mother with the cleaning and cooking. Her first husband was Percy Jones they met while she was reporter in Dallas after Percy died she married Bill Fritz in 1946, moved to Cincinnati Ohio and they had a son George William. They later divorced and she moved back to Oklahoma.
Johnnie loved the Lord and taught Sunday school at Springdale Baptist in Oklahoma City. Her library was amazing full of different bibles and all sorts of reference books. Almost anything you want to research is somewhere in her collection. It's her legacy to us and will help us keep her close forever.
She was a wonderful person. I hope you will meet her one day.
