Chip Cawthon's mother was Mary Bell, W. J. D. Cawthon's second wife whom he married ca 1887 after his first wife, Louisa Hutchinson died. W. J. D. and Mary later divorced and she married Henry C. Daughtery. Mary and Henry are buried at Cluster Springs Cemetery. (Source: Linda Clark, Tallahassee, Florida). Chip's home was located in the Childrens Home Community in north Walton County on property his father, W. J. D. Cawthon bought for him. Chip's wife Lorene was my dad's cousin and we visited their home on many occasions when I was a child. My dad's sister, Sarah Carnley married Chip and Lorene's oldest son, Allen Berry.
