Mildred was born the tenth child in a family of fifteen children, to James Aubrey Barker and Mattie Cordelia Day Barker. She was a member of the Church of Christ from a young age. Most of her working years were spent as assisting nurse to Dr. Walker Dempsey..noted for her caring, compassionate and loving nature she served that position well..At the age of sixteen, she was visited by a Hollywood talent scout, but her parents declined..One would have expected an ego problem (SHE WAS AN EXTRAORDINARILY BEAUTIFUL YOUNG LADY) but the beauty only seemed to make her humble....Wife of Olan Thrasher, she leaves behind three sons and one daughter.. Jerry, Rita, Donald and Kerry Thrasher.
