Alpha L. Robertson, 84, of Wichita Falls, died on Friday, February 7, 2014.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2014, in
the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls with Rev. Nigel Ali
officiating. Interment will follow at Burkburnett Memorial Cemetery under the
direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
A daughter of the late Emily Knoila (Garrett) and O. M. Fortenberry, Alpha was
born on April 29, 1929, in Burkburnett. She and Claude Robertson were married on
May 19, 1951, in Henrietta. Alpha was an ordained minister who began preaching
to Native Americans in Oklahoma. Claude then built a church in Wichita Falls,
and Alpha began a ministry that spanned more than 40 years.
Along with her parents, Alpha was also preceded in death by her husband, Claude
Robertson, Sr.; a son, Claude John Robertson, Jr; two brothers; nine sisters;
and a grandson, Robert Allen Wilson.
Alpha is survived by her children, Sherry Kay Chestnut and husband, Jack, of
Penelope, TX, Robert Robertson of Alvarado, TX and Gregory Keith Robertson and
wife, Debra, of Windthorst; 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren
and great-great-grandchildren.
