Mrs. Amanda Catherine Rodgers, 85, wife of the late Charles Rodgers, and well known resident of Elkton, died at her home yesterday afternoon at 3:30 following a long illness. Mrs. Rodgers was born January 3, 1857, near McGaheysville, and was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Warble. She was a faithful member of the United Brethren Church throughout her life, and was a woman of high Christian character. She is survived by four children, Mrs. W. V. Sellers, Mrs Journey Herring, T. E. Rodgers, and Clarence Rodgers, all of Elkton; two brothers, J. C. Rodgers, of Goods Mill, and H. H. Rodgers, of Weyers Cave; 26 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock from her late home. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Floyd Fulk. Burial will be in Elk Run Cemetery. Grandsons of the deceased, will act as pallbearers.
