Jesse Watson was born in Morgan County, Indiana, January 23rd, 1837, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Geo. Johnson, January 9th, 1919, at the age of 81 years, 11 months, and 16 days.

He came to Iowa with his parents in the fall of 1853 and lived in Union Township until his marriage to Eliza Jane Allen, March 15th, 1860. To this union were born four children, Mary and Charles, deceased, and Mrs. Ella Waters and Mrs. Emma Johnson. After this marriage he moved to his home in Sugar Creek Township, where he lived until the death of his wife, November 19th, 1908. Since that time he has lived with his two daughters.

He leaves to mourn his loss, two daughters, one aged brother, eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren besides a host of other relatives and friends. Interment was in the Blue Point Cemetery.
