Death of John H. Dependener
John H. Dependener, reported in last week's Herald as being very low from a severe attack of hemorrhage of the lungs, died at the home of his parents near Rock Creek last Wednesday evening, the 25th instant, and was buried yesterday from the Catholic Church in Auburn.
Deceased was a young man, born in the same house where he died, and consequently raised in this neighborhood. He was the second son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Dependener, old-time and highly esteemed residents of this locality. He was steady and industrious and sober, and a general favorite among all who knew him. The family is naturally robust and possessed of strong constitutions, but some years ago John worked a good deal in lime, and nearly a year ago he was prostrated from an accidental dose of poison. Either lime settling on his lungs or the effects of the poison, it is thought caused his health to break and eventually provoked the hemorrhage which caused his death.
His loss is a sore affliction to this family, who have the sincere sympathy of the entire community. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Catholic Church and was very largely attended.
Died--At the house of his parents near Auburn, November 25, 1891, John Henry Dependener, a native of California, aged 25 years, 2 months, and 20 days.
