[Obit] Daniel Barklow,Sr.,71, died last Thursday. Born, Freeport,Ill., July 5,1865. Moved to Iowa when a year old and six years later came with his parents, Mr. & Mrs. John Barklow, in 1873, with two uncles and families to Red Bluff, then by wagon to Coos County. Married July 13,1884 to Mary Jane Pullen who died Oct.5,1935. Had contract to carry mail from Empire to Roseburg,..sold it. Went to Nome,Alaska, back to Myrtle Point, took up logging and later farming. Survivors: one daughter, Mrs. Nancy Miller, Myrtle Point; 5 sons, William, Henry and Daniel,Jr., all of Myrtle Point, Leslie of Marshfield, and Walter of Grants Pass. Buried Norway. [MPH-9/2/1936]
