Son of JAMES GRAY & ISABELLA VERNELL
Occupation: Railroad Coach Carpenter

Married: 1906, IDA SOPHIE (JUNGE) STEIN, Lebanon, Smith Co., Kansas
Two children:
1. William Walter "Bill" GRAY
1907 - 1974
2. Esther Crocker GRAY
1909 - 1995

============
William married Ida in 1906 in Lebanon, Smith, Kansas. Ida went there to marry him. His sister Esther Moore Gray lived there with her husband, John Elmer Crocker.

Ida and William lived mainly in Pueblo. William Jr. was born Apr 25, 1907, followed by Esther on Jul 1, 1909.

Family history states that while William was building their home (541 Belmont Ave.) in late 1909 or early 1910, Ida packed up the five kids and went to Germany (Saxony to be more exact).

William was worried in 1911; the beginnings of the Great War were starting. He went after Ida, but the returning passenger list only shows Ida and five children. They arrived in New York on December 7, 1911. They probably rode the train to their new home in Pueblo, Colorado.
