He was born Nov. 20, 1924 in Leigh, Pa.
He established A.A. Appraisal Association. He was a member of American Legion 40, D.A.V. Chapter 13, Purple Heart, Glen Burnie Masonic Lodge #213, and was national legislative director of M.O.P.H.
He was very active at Glen Burnie U.M.C. and was interested in computers, dancing and was dedicated to our country.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Acker.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy M. Ferres-Acker, whom he married Dec. 19, 1999; one son, Rick G. Acker of Glen Burnie; one daughter, Robin Acker-Smith of Glen Burnie; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 18 and Thursday, March 19, at Singleton Funeral and Cremation Services, 1 Second Avenue, S.W. Glen Burnie. Funeral services will be held Friday at Glen Burnie U.M.C., 5 2nd Avenue, SE, Glen Burnie, MD 21061. Interment will be in Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville.
