Hazel Brown

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at West Lawn Funeral Home in Eugene for Hazel Alberta Brown of Eugene, who died Oct. 7 of age-related causes. She was 89. Burial at West Lawn Memorial Park will follow the service.

She was born Jan. 24, 1920, in Douthat, Okla., to Robert W. and Lottie Krimmel [sic] Baker. She married Huston Eugene Garoutte in 1937. He died in 1957. She married Glen K. Brown in 1960. He died in 1993.

She worked 22 years for the University of Oregon Housing Department, and as a seamstress.

Survivors include a son, Robert Garoutte of Anaheim, Calif.; two daughters, Regena Parker of Newberg and Barbara Garoutte Laiho of Eugene; a sister, Ada Eidson of Miami, Okla., and six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. A son, Stanley Garoutte, died in 1992.
