Sidney (nee Capper) McKee 2003 tombstone replacement, Generation 3. Daughter of Michael and Sarah Capper. Fairview Lutheran Church, Frederick County, Virginia. The original stone was lost about 1966 to a falling pawpaw tree, the stump of which can still be found if you visit. This is the first account of a middle name being used in the family, if it is true. The church had no early records at all, and did not know until informed by Wm. E. Capper that the Handley Library has an inventory of their 19th Century headstones, made in 1965, written by a church member (in the nick of time.) The new stone was cut to match the library records. Leslye Winslow wrote the check for this one, and Bill Capper had it made, then wrestled it into position. We have photos of 34 tombstones of Sidney, Joseph, and their descendants, in Fairview, Ebenezer, and Mt. Hebron Cemeteries, with surnames including McKee, Foreman, Rosenberger, Seabright, and Bornscheuer. But we have no people pictures at all. Sidney was a very popular girl's name 200 years ago.
